其实原本是想在昨晚的聚会之后写点东西的，但就只能怪自己斗不过懒惰虫的恶势力啰！或者应该这么说，不单单是昨晚而已，我根本就是个惰性很强的人呗！=P

认真说起来，早前想写些东西原本是想总结我2011年的心情的。。。（心情也有总结的吗？？）应该说是分享自己的心情和感慨吧！=)

今天这篇我应该不会参杂太多英文，甚至可能没有哦。我把今天这篇当成是自己的日记，尽管我不是一个爱写日记的人。可是，不知怎么的，其实过去这些日子，总有些感触想和好朋友分享，所以今天这篇最主要也是想和我的好朋友，和打从心底真正关心我的人分享的吧！

去年是个高潮起伏的一年。

恢复单身的我其实过得还不错。虽然在上半年，心情的起落有点像是在玩过山车。（chey,你以为我想玩的meh?）但是，也只能抱着随遇而安的心情去迎接人生中的每一天。

你知道吗？每当我想起那段日子，我都由衷的打从心底很想感谢一些人。（虽然我在上篇文章说过，“you know who you are", but somehow i would still like to name some names, cos perhaps you have no idea how impt you were to me at that point of my life).

GOH. 谢谢你在那个晚上“收留”了我。虽然你人生当中有了不一样的priorities, but i know how much you wan to be there for me.

T.X.L. you were always there when i needed you. i still remember you making calls to me on ur way home, despite being tired and hungry. And like u've said, i do hope it's e last time that i'm whining to u over such matters. 希望老天爷可以给我更好的一个人哦。

I.T. “患难见真情”的好兄弟！*hits chest* (yes, it's already flat, i know.)

B.T. 谢谢你陪我度过了“猖狂的岁月”。有了你的保护，我可以很放心。

H.X.L. u may not 100% understand my story, but u still made time and effort to listen to me, and that's what real friends are abt!

K.T. whenever i'm lost, u r one of the first few I would like to look for for guidance. maybe somehow i know how much you would like me to be myself, then yet not get hurt. it's not easy, i know, but i'm learning as life goes on.

to my dear friends, thank you for allowing me to be myself. somehow i thk that's the most important thing in life and the most important thing you can give in a r/s, be it friendship or whatever love lah.

离开也是因为我想做自己。而不是别人眼中的自己。

if not for all for you, i might not have survived the ordeal. 我不想太肉麻，我只想说小女子铭记于心。=) aiya, u all know one lah huh~ muahahaha. =)

so after what had happened, I realised that friendship is very very important. And I finally do understand it better now that it's very important to be there for someone, at a particular point in time, be it a night or simply two hours, just to listen and share, and for all you know, you might change someone's life. 朋友真的不用多，有知心的三几个就已经是个blessing了。

so 2011 was a year full of the unexpected. after spending several mths to realise how impt friends were to me, 之后的下半年是忙于工作。是忙到那种连休息都不够的！但是，我却觉得莫名的开心。我得到了好久没体会到的满足感。当一个人决定寄情于工作时，总希望自己可以做得最好！其实，除了是希望可以转移重心外，也是希望可以体会到自己的价值吧！

工作得好开心！！！！！*好想大声地告诉全世界* =)

最开心的几件事！我见到了他、他和他！

炎亚纶：我真的很渴望以后我的儿子能长得像他。到时，儿子想要什么，我这个老妈就会带着微笑，捏捏他的双颊说：“给你。。。给你。。。全给你！”

方大同：他已晋升为我最钟爱的男歌手。我已经数不清他的《15》专辑我到底听了几次了。*LOVE* 总有一天，我会特地飞到香港就为了出席他的演唱会。I think he's worth it.

林宥嘉：很有主见，不随波逐流的小子。我欣赏。

u know how doing certain jobs gets u all driven and energized again?? their events made me so, and i do appreciate that too. getting the positive energy from them was unexpected, and i truly did enjoy myself. looking forward to more of such energy in the new year!

so what else was there in 2011 that i wanna share with you??

2011的愿望之一是要参与舞台剧。《回音》就给了我这难得的机会。从13岁演到36岁，而且是在短短的15分钟内要表现出“陈有音”的成长哦。很有挑战性！I like! 比较私密的心情故事，我就不分享了。还是要谢谢帮我突破瓶颈的朋友。还有来支持的朋友。u know how much this means to me.

what was also unforgettable was of cos the bday surprise that came on after the finale, which was one day before my bday. i had moved on to the side of the stage when suddenly, ivy came back on and led me back to the centre of the stage, and then the whole crew of《回音》came forward and sang me a bday song. 喜极而泣/感动落泪。

i couldn't control my tears on stage when they sprung the surprise on me. i'm not gonna show the ultra uglier pix, unless u have access to my hp. =P what i wan to share is: 这份惊喜来得太突然了。出其不意。当天表演最后一场时是带着依依不舍的心情的，总觉得五场演得不够啊！满脑子只想着演出，所以根本就没料到大伙儿会为我庆生。在舞台上，眼泪会那么“汹涌澎湃”除了因为感动和惊喜之外，更是因为我在我自己很喜欢的舞台上度过了我人生中很重要的一个生日。长这么大，第一次有那么多人为我庆生耶。

On the actual day, i called along my good friends and we went for a Jap buffet! =) Yes, I love jap food! And they bought me my fav cheesecake, upon my request. It's the best cheesecake ever! From Rive Gauche...if you would like to know. =)

非常重要的生日。

And 2011 ended with a blast in HK - the most fantastic holiday ever! Which I shall post another time, when there is more time to share.

So, yup, this was the gist of my 2011. Basically, why did I feel so much to want to write something to summarise my 2011? I was really touched by the quote from "New Year's Eve".

"It's (The ball for the annual NYE ball drop at Times Square) suspended there to remind us before we pop the champagne and celebrate the New Year, to stop and reflect on the year that has gone by. To remember both our triumphs and our missteps - our promises made, and broken. The times we opened ourselves up to great adventures - or closed ourselves down, for fear of getting hurt. Because that's what New Year's is all about: getting another chance. A chance to forgive, to do better, to do more, to give more, to love more. And stop worrying about 'what if' and start embracing what would be. So when that ball drops at midnight - and it will drop - let's remember to be nice to each other, kind to each other. And not just tonight but all year long."

The quote touched me. 一年过去之后，我们应该充满着希望去迎接新的一年。Come what may. 我们总是能不断的成长，希望能蜕变成更好的人。=) 人生不就应该是这样吗？

And so, time flies, though I might have said it a zillion times. Before we know it, 2011 has passed, and we welcome 2012, and of cos the Dragon Year!

Had a lot of gatherings for the past few days, with family and friends.

My cousin and I, and of cos my lovely niece and nephew. Yes, i totally agree that my niece shd be a 童星...so cute lor!!

Speaking of which, if you love babies, pls go watch《龙众舞》。Regrettably, the photo here didn't do Baby Nigel justice, but he was totally ADORABLE in the movie!! 看了之后，也好想生一个！=p

As for myself, I was pretty...UGLY...when I was a kid. A visit to my ex-neighbour got me this! A childhood pix! The two taller ones were my大哥and二哥。The pair of twins则是还有保持联络的旧邻居，个子最小的就是我。真不知道我在腼腆些什么。。。pai say lah! Heehee...

And finally, 昨晚的农历新年聚会在我家举行哦！Here are the friends who have been keeping me sane and down-to-earth over the past years. 感恩啦！

Still remembered my last blog entry on the auditions held in early Oct?? Before we know it, it's the finals this Sat! And of cos, I'll be hosting! This time together with another "JIA" - Xie Jia Fa!!

20 gals have been stringently picked out and have also undergone training to make sure that they showcase their most attractive side to our judges at the finals! These gals are pretty, and of cos, natural! 因为我们要寻找的是自然美！！;) And I've hosted the auditions too and realised that most of them are really confident!! Yes~~ always remember, confidence always works and makes you shine!! :)))) And a confident smile is definitely the best accessory for anyone!! =) Oh my, I feel so excited!! Muahahahahaaahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So what can we look forward to together this wkn?? ;) Shokubutsu Endorser, Elvin Ng, will definitely be there, and other 帅哥s as well...muahahahhahahhahahahaha...Romeo Tan, Zhang Zhen Huan, Darryl Yong, and yes lah, our Jiafa can be classified as a 帅哥too lah...muahahahahaha.........这个星期六，我赚到了啦！！！！！不拿酬劳也没关系了。。。kekeke... *grinning from ear to ear*

I sure do hope our 20 beautiful finalists wun be distracted by the cute guys, for they have to be tested on their eloqence, and other areas...总之，一定要信心满满，临危不乱！=)

HK Holiday! (Part 3)

pai say lah~ have been too bz to update right after the second entry! but here goes! =)

went to the popular 镛记 in Central for its famous roasted goose despite the drizzle!

烧鹅真好吃！=D

It's a whole day of fantastic food! Dinner was at SML @ Times Square 11/F. The highlight of the restaurant was that it serves its cuisine in 3 different sizes - Small, Medium and Large, hence the name "SML"! In order to try out a wider variety of dishes, J and I ordered everything in small sizes! I've forgotten the exact names of the dishes, but they were good! Yummy! Satisfying dinner! =) I will definitely go there again!

Don't they just look tantalising????? oh my, i miss SML already...muahahaha!!

And next, what's a trip to HK without experiencing the nightlife at Lam Kwai Fong? It was kinda crowded...headed to the slightly "quieter" pubs...haha! But well, of cos it was still noisy! =P And look at how sexy my friend, J, is?? Muahaha!

This is the view outside the pub tt I patronised. Was approached by some ang mohs/foreigners who wanted to be friends...and one of them even sent his female friend and conveyed the msg that he was wondering if i'm the special one...WHAT THE???!!! I shook my head and waved my hand vigorously and declared, "NO! NO! I'M NOT THE SPECIAL ONE!" =Z Yes, I was looking forward to 异乡艳遇 but not like tt lah!

Apparently, the pub opp with a long queue is frequented by many HK stars...wanted to try my luck and c if I can bump into any celebs there, but the queue is simply too long!

The next day, right before we headed to the airport, we shopped ard Causeway Bay and found a lil cafe along an inconspicuous corridor! 好特别哦！(P.S. yeah, that's my back view with my new hat!)

I miss HK already~~!!!!!!!!

HK Holiday! (Part 2)

继续享受！购物前，先解渴！There's no queue for HK 贡茶, unlike Singapore! Phew...

Tsim Sha Tsui is a good place for shopping! Other than Granville Road, we went to DNA - a shopping mall that has lotsa quirky stuff (as u can tell from e decor), but i din buy anything there...

Such a huge backpack! Scary!

For shopping, I'll recommend 利时大厦, near DNA, which is very much like Far East @ Orchard with lotsa lil shops, and u can get nice, affordable, trendy clothes, accessories and shoes...bought quite a lot of stuff there! But if u r looking for really affordable stuff, I'd say Argyle Centre in Mongkok is a good choice...(though I din go there this time round...hehe...)

And when you are along Granville Road @ Tsim Sha Tsui, be sure to try the famous 丰记正宗蛋仔饼！This particular store has been patronised by several celebs, including Sammi Cheng! And we were attracted by the aroma even when we were stores away! And indeed, it tastes really crispy and nice! The 蛋仔饼 in other stores seem tasteless and definitely, not aromatic...Thus this is highly recommended! And J and I missed it even days after...yummy!

Dinner at Knutsfurd Terrace! An alternative to Lam Kwai Fong if u r looking for pubs to chill out, and esp. nice restaurants! Had wanted to dine at Munch (highly raved according to some online sites), but the restaurant was fully booked! Must reserve a table the next time I visit HK! *determined*

Ended up at Paparazzi, an Italian restaurant, instead cos we were too tired from all the walking...ambience is pretty nice! but food-wise...i'd say it's just so-so... =P

After dinner, it's chill-out time! =) Visited a pub along the street that has TVs airing HK drama...I like tt! I feel like a Hongkie! Haha! And of cos, free strong wifi finally! Kept whatsapping and vibering my frens in Singapore! =P

In HK, it's really abt shopping and eating and drinking! Dessert at 许留山 b4 heading back to the hotel!

Going back to the hotel after a long day! I'm worn out!

While walking back, I bumped into my Khalil方大同in the MTR station...

My Khalil is holding his <15> concert from 25-27 August!! Shd I go back to HK for him?! *seriously deliberating*

HK Holiday!! (Part 1)

This has be my most last-min trip so far. I always plan my vacations mths in advance, but this time round, the air tix and accomodation were booked only one week earlier. My travelling companion, J, was damn spontaneous despite the late notice! And thanks to the friends who gave me recommendations on where to go and what to eat cos I was ultra bz the whole wk b4 i flew!

This is the hotel in Causeway Bay that one of my frens recommended. Only 5 mins walk from Times Square!

The beginning of a relaxing holiday!

Steamboat dinner at 稻香！稻香and利苑are two popular F & B groups in HK, similar to Crystal Jade and Imperial Treasure??

The 猪骨汤 tastes great! 清甜！But when we requested to add more soup, the waitress auntie came with a kettle and poured something in...but the "liquid" was colourless...HUH??!! And then we realised it was merely hot water, not 猪骨汤!! The soup base was diluted!! Why wasn't 猪骨汤 added in?! *disappointed* I dun wan diluted soup base leh!

Off to shopping and eating the next day with J! =P From HK Island (Causeway Bay) to Kowloon Island (Tsim Sha Tsui)!

The food looks tantalising! Must take pix!

Ordered this special dessert that looks like 三层肉！Of cos it tastes nth like the fatty oily soft 三层肉 lah, it's actually 姜汁桂花糕！It looks very nice, but it's rather Q and tastes of ginger, which I dun love... =P

A must-go place to c c look look! G.O.D.! Goods of Desire - a lifestyle brand founded in HK! Love the unique items there! 富有香港特色！

Tempted to get these!

And I love the chairs! Rather expensive though...and my room is already swamped with too much things to make space for another chair... =P

But I still like them! =)

I Am Back!

Yes, it's been a while since I last blogged...

Hmmm...let's juz put it this way...

My life for the past 1.5yr has been a lil different...kinda can be made into a movie or mini-drama (or at least in my opinion)...yes, it's that dramatic. To the extent that I couldn't even believe it myself. But then things just happened and I've learnt to embrace and go with the flow. It's kinda similar to when u r in rocky waters - the more u try to resist the strong waves, the more drained u become... On the contrary, the more relaxed and open-minded u r, the more energy u'll conserve; and when the waves bring u to places tt u've nv been to, u'll then actually have e energy to observe, appreciate and react.

"It's better to know and be disappointed than to never know and always wonder."

I have no more regrets in my life (at least I can proudly say tt thus far). And I'm actually pretty cool abt it. A big THANK-YOU to all my frens who have been with me all this while. U know who u r, so i'm not gonna name names. =P Thanks for being there for me when I needed you e most...Pai say abt the countless msgs, calls, etc ah, hehe...Thanks for hanging out with me at those places when I needed to whine...And thanks for having me over at your places...These are frens whom I'll gladly 两肋插刀 for...

I've always been a lil weird. Or to put it in a more PC way, "every individual is unique". Hence, of cos I do have my lil idioscyncracies and I'm always a weird mix of rationality and sentimentality. It's really not easy to define who or what I am (though sometimes I do believe that my frens would have a clearer idea on tt) =P, but I aso do believe that that is exactly what makes me special, and I shd be proud of tt. (If u r a lil "weird" by ur definition, u ought to be proud of tt too!) 人时时刻刻都在变, u'll never truely know who u r, cos u r constantly changing...there is no
标准答案, hence is e ans really tt impt? What I feel is that as long as u generally know what is impt to u, and tt u r steering in a positive direction, 那就够了。

And it's impt to have一颗善良的心。

I'm glad that the ppl ard me r mostly nice and kind ppl, and one thing for sure, no matter which stage of life I am in, I AIM TO GET RID OF ALL E 脏东西 IN MY LIFE. By 脏东西, I refer to the negative energy and ppl, etc. My motto in life: Know what is good and what is bad for you. Keep the good and definitely get rid of the bad! Go away, 脏东西!! YUCKS!!

I'm really happy that I've made quite a number of good frens along the way. 患难与共。多谢，朋友。=)

Central Japan Trip (part 1)!

though i had a fall in Japan, there were still some lovable moments thruout e trip...anyway, hope u'll enjoy e pix! =)

we went from places to places everyday...and here're some pix of Nara 奈良!

First of all, a good breakfast to start e day... =) i like pumpkin soup, but this pumpkin porridge din taste fab...

din have a liking to natto though...i spat it out after trying a small mouthful...

lunch at a kimono museum...took a lot of pix wif my food...but my tour guide is always hovering ard me during tt time cos i was sitting in e centre among all e other tour mates...

Getting back on track...

It has not been an easy 2010 so far...

Month after month, there had been exciting, dramatic, and overwhelming incidents happening...to an extent, i wasn't smiling for a period of time.

i miss my smiles...

i was browsing thru folders of pix...hopefully to find one pix with a really really bright smile, but it either wasn't captured over the past few yrs or there really wasn't one...haha...it made me feel sad all of a sudden. i miss e times when i can laugh heartily and wholly be myself.

at the stage of adulthood, we have more responsibilities and a wider scope of things to handle. i can manage that, that's just all part of life. :) it's a time when u feel like u r capable of doing a lot of things. it's a stage when u really possess more qualities and abilities to finally do things that u've always dreamed abt as things slowly fall in place over time.

it's always good to know what u wan and how to get it. i had a goal since i was 12. now, into my adulthood, i'm happy to know that i've achieved what i had set out to do.

however, along e way, do u get blinded and perhaps, pay less attn or forget wat is e most impt thing to u in life?

i was engaged in a very exciting and inspirational conversation wif a fren sometime ago...we chatted for 5 hrs about a lot of stuff...childhood...attitude towards life...goals...and it made me realise, perhaps along e way, i diverted from a healthy track and became blinded to a lot of things...in e end, who suffers? i'm e one who had to bear wif e negative consequences and subsequently, it became a vicious cycle...i'm just like a hamster running in e wheel while it spins and spins...(and pls pardon me for being unable to update my blogs, etc and frens, pls pardon me for unable to update my social life...i simply had none to speak of during tt period...ha...)

never do i wan to lose myself.

one day, i came across this inspirational quote - "You are what you let yourself be. You always have a choice."

And i realised all i wanted is to be myself.

it's awful when u lose control of how u wanna lead ur life. ppl pop out, telling me of e things tt i shd do and wat i shdn't. but y?

isn't this my life?

just when i had kinda gotten things clear and wanna get myself back on track soon, i went on a trip to Japan hoping to rejuvenate.

and yup, i fell down. i was stepping from e pavement to e road where my tour bus was; there were 2 mini concrete steps right on e side of e road, off e pavement, which i obviously wasn't aware of. (it's very difficult to describe) i stepped on it (din step well obviously), twisted my left ankle, lost my balance and fell on my butt. i was holding my shopping bags and there was nth in sight for me to grab. as i was falling down, i could c e weird angle which my ankle was twisted...and b4 i noe it, my butt was in pain.

e tourist behind me kindly tried to help me up, but i told him not to touch me at tat instant. it was just so painful. when he finally could help me up, my butt was in pain every time i took a step up e tour bus.

e tour bus headed off to shinjuku and e other tourists got off to shop while i stayed in e bus. for 2 whole hrs, i was alone in e bus (other than e jap driver in front) and i couldn't move in my seat. i couldn't even nudge to shift my position. i juz rem after 1/2 hr, my left foot swelled. and i tot that's it. that's like e end of e trip for me.

so from that evening onwards, i was in a wheelchair for e next 2 days...in e hotel, in disneyland, in e airport...

as soon as i got back to singapore, my brothers sent me to e hospital to do an X-ray. and so there was how it went. 2 weeks of mc.

i was speechless. when ppl asked me y it happened, i would be dumbfounded. i was never a careless person. just when i tot i could be rejuvenated and could finally do things tt i wanted to do after e trip, it just happened. 2 wks of mc. no reason. no explanation. it juz happened.

maybe it's heaven's way of getting a well-deserved break for me. to get true rest wif nth on my mind. maybe it's a good way of forcing myself to take things slow. haha.

some things happened without a reason. or tat's wat u tot at tat instant. but e thing is, things do happen for a reason. it's up to u whether u wan it to be a lesson learnt and get something out of it.

so now, i'll try to get back on track wif an injured butt and ankle/foot for a while... ;)

精彩的2010年1月到充满期待的虎年！

真是个精彩的1月份！忙得不可开交！撇开原本的工作不谈，单单在职场上的额外任务加上《春花齐放2010》就让我失去了社交生活！每天脑子里都是在想着完成工作，赶通告，如何让表演更精彩，etc.

这次的《春花齐放2010》，我特别向上司要求卸下主持棒，好让我专注地投入表演。

对于在舞台上演戏，我一点都不紧张。“周如意”这个爱美，HIAO HIAO，凶悍的大姐角色让我觉得得心应手。据说，崇庆这次是为了我们量身打造各个角色。但请让我澄清！现实生活当中，我是有点“恰”，但绝对没有这么HIAO！

也谢谢造型师为我打造的造型！这么短的亮片热裤，我还是第一次穿哦！

《春花齐放2010》中最让我担心的就是独唱的部分。我一个人要连同74人的华乐团来表演《雨天》这首歌。我真得真的准备了很久。也特别找了歌唱老师练唱。当然，你或许也了解，当你真正上台表演时，你之前所学会的窍门顿时都会忘了！真得很可怕！做了很多心理建设，一直鼓励自己。也当然要谢谢一些朋友的支持，其中一位就是IVY，一直在我身边帮我压惊！不愧是讲义气的朋友！THANKS MAN! =)

朋友没拍下我独唱的照片。哎呀，谁叫你没来支持啊？！

就只能说，你无法想象当我唱完第二场时，我那如释重负的心情！！！！！！真想大叫呢！！！！！！

事后我在想，如果我能在和74人华乐团进行现场演唱时表现得好，那么以后应该暂时没什么会难倒我了吧？！=P Good experience!

之后，又为了其他的工作忙忙忙。我的工作量总是比其他人多。人是会累的。

总要让我休息一下再继续冲刺吧？

I've always been madly in love with beauty info/products. It was especially evident when I started doing 《就是爱美丽》"Beauty Emily" on YES933! I could spend hours looking for useful beauty tips and I was especially glad when ppl emailed/smsed me and even left comments on my blog to ask me more abt it!

That was when I tot, "hey, why not a beauty blog to collate my 爱美丽 tips and to share my experience"? Does salt really work to reduce the tummy? Does baking soda really remove blackheads effectively? 昨天下午一把事情做完后，就赶紧离开公司到paragon看医生。。。看完医生，已是下午4点多了。约了朋友晚上7点多吃晚餐。该回家呢？还是在外溜达？

肚子饿饿的。。。也好久没喝咖啡了。。。包包里有本《I周刊》。。。好吧！决定到楼下的咖啡座享受一番。

花了$11.80点了我最爱的cheesecake和一杯caramel frappucino (without whipped cream of cos)，就这样过了一段写意时光。。。很久没这样了。。。好开心哦。。。

My Wrist!

我不可能玩自残，不过这倒是看起来挺严重的。。。

有必要包成这样子吗？只不过是2公分的烫伤痕迹。。。（顺便看看我自己上的指甲颜色。。。哈哈。)

what happened? i was at a japanese restaurant last last sun...had paper hotpot...the big piece of paper was covering the circumference of the pot...i stretched out my hand to take something in front of the pot...and AAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bought "BURNAID" from WATSON'S immediately after dinner...it soothed the pain, but after applying for 2 days, the wound was still quite bad - with blister and pus.

(my phone doesn't have optical zoom for the camera function, so it's not very clear here...but it looks quite disgusting after 2 days actually...)

Went to a GP last wed and kept on applying the cream 3 times a day for 1 wk...but the centre of the wound was still red. First degree burn at the two ends, and second degree burn in the centre. Worried. Went to see a specialist at orchard paragon yest...and spent over $100 on these...

Antibiotics to be taken orally for 3 days cos the wound seems to be infected...saline to wash the wound (tap water has more bacteria), cream for the wound once a day, after which i should paste the skin-colour tape on it, and then use the bandage to wrap around the wrist so that the tape will stay...

i've been refraining from my fav prawns for quite some time...argh. bo bian. (but pls pls dun leave a comment saying "poor thing"...i really dislike tat phrase leh~) =P hope i can recover soon!

weibin and i were invited to the media launch of Kose's new make-up line - Esprique Precious...u may have already read all abt it in some magazines...good, affordable, easy-to-use make up from your fav Jap brand! hehe...

the launch was actually quite cool! it's at Mt Faber Jewel Box (juz tat it's difficult to get a parking lot) and they had invited a make-up artist all the way from Japan to demonstrate to us how cool the make-up is!

captured a candid shot of the place (and the highly-sensitive-to-camera make-up artist) =P and notice how pinky the cocktail was and how it matched everything? hehe...pinky pinky...

thanks to the Kose team for the nice make-up! really very nice and very useful for "hiao" media like me and weibin...muahaha...

had the chance to try out their lip gloss...(so juz pay attn to the lips lah huh...e rest of e light make-up is done by me...not pro enuff lah...haha...)

i like going to clarke quay...the authentic japanese ramen at central...the relaxing breeze (though sometimes humid)...and the captivating lights/ambience...not forgetting the (sometimes) good-looking crowd and the colourful cocktails...muahaha...

《我的超级便当》Finale!

i've lost count of the number of episodes that have been aired every sunday at 10am so far...anw, completed the shooting of the last ep in mid jul...woo~ let's juz say time really flies! had begun the first ep in end mar...more intensive in may and jun...now work is finally over! =)

simply had to take pix wif my co-host Ben Yeo and other crew members as momento..=)

this is one of my fav teams of the whole season...very smart and obedient and really great kids to hang out wif...be sure to catch the "pizza" ep! if i'm not wrong, it shld be this coming ep on sun! =) hope u'll enjoy it!

Complaint Letter

rem the time i told u abt my fren's visit to a doctor and how unprofessional the doctor was?

well, i've already submitted the complaint letter to Singapore Medical Council a month ago and i'll have to wait 6-9 months before getting a reply from them...

here's my complaint letter to them. i feel really pissed about the whole issue. if a similar case happens to you, you'll know what to do...=P go to the Singapore Medical Council to seek justice and deter the unprofessional conduct of doctors! doctors are there to save lives, not ruin lives, right? haiii...

Dear Sir/Mdm,

I am writing to inform you of my dissatisfaction of the medical consultation provided by Dr. A. from "XX Family Clinic & Surgery" on 27 June 2009.

My friend was feeling unwell that night because he was down with sore throat and fever. While he was seeking consultation from Dr. A, I was seated at the back of the room and observed the interaction between the doctor and the patient.

The patient told Dr. A of his throat and feverish discomfort. In view of the current H1N1 virus, Dr. A asked if the patient had been overseas and if he had been in contact with any H1N1 patients. The patient clearly answered “No” to both questions and explained to the doctor his current lifestyle of merely going to work and back home.

When a temperature check was required, Dr. A passed the ear thermometer to the patient, expecting him to take his own temperature. Dr. A clearly had no intention of taking the patient’s temperature himself. When the patient had done so, he took over the ear thermometer, took a glance, and placed it aside without confirming how high the temperature was.

The doctor proceeded with the consultation by repeating his questions – whether the patient himself was absolutely certain that he had not gone overseas and that he had not been in contact with H1N1 patients. I clearly do understand the doctor’s concern of the current H1N1 pandemic. However, instead of observing the patient and paying attention to any discomfort (whether or not the patient is down with H1N1), the doctor was looking at the patient’s medical history card 95% of the time.

One of the rare occasions when Dr. A finally looked up was when he requested to check the patient’s throat. After some writing, he then mentioned that he would give some medicine for the patient’s sore throat and fever. This marked the conclusion of the consultation.

I was taken back by the slipshod attitude of Dr. A. Evidently, he was not responsible in carrying out his duties – the check-up was not thorough. Before we left, I had to personally ask Dr. A whether the patient was running a fever. He said “Yes”. I had to probe further to ask how high the temperature was. He then replied me “37.8 degrees”.

I was appalled by his lack of professionalism. Throughout the consultation, he did not check for any swelling around the patient’s neck and he did not utilize the stethoscope for further check-up. It appeared that Dr. A was fearful of any potential body contact with the patient.

Unfortunately, the patient’s fever worsened the following day to 38.5 degrees. When the patient went for another consultation on 28 June, Dr. A adopted a similarly unprofessional approach, and he merely gave the patient a stronger dosage of medicine.

The patient’s fever persisted even after several days. He went to another clinic on 1 July, and he was diagnosed with tonsillitis.

I question Dr. A’s professionalism and his ability to give a correct and detailed diagnosis.

I understand that the doctor-in-charge of “XX Family Clinic & Surgery”, Dr. XX, would only be back on 7 July, hence Dr. A was a replacement doctor for his clinic. However, with such poor medical conduct, I worry for the patients who had been unwell during this period, and who had simply wished for proper and professional medical treatment. Regrettably, Dr. A had shown his inability to provide that.

I hope that this matter would be looked into and I look forward to receiving your explanation of this incident.

so most of e time, i'm responsible for my styling - outfit, hair, make-up, etc...it can be fun but it aso can be 伤脑筋! Having to brainstorm and look thru my wardrobe for e perfect look on a regular basis...=P but well, as u noe, gals simply love dressing up! (no matter wat occasion it is for...hehe..)

i'm tasked to appear for 6 eps, and so far i've been to 4...tis is one of e best looks so far? =P

i finally have the time to blog! was extremely bz wif radio production (drama), etc, for e past 2 wks...

i'm currently doing a kids tv variety show called "我的超级便当". The first season was done by my very pretty friend Ezann Lee and Ben Yeo. For this second season, it's me working with Ben Yeo. It's a prgm whereby two groups of two kids learn to prepare a certain dish and actually get to cook the dish all by themselves during the actual shoot. i'm a bit pai say that i can't help much...I REALLY DUNNO HOW TO COOK!!!!! 我真的不会煮！我只有一张嘴！know how to talk talk talk only! it's much easier to comment and explain things than to really get hands-on on the food preparation/cooking etc...

had fun last wk with yixuan and meixuan...though we din win eventually, it was actually fun working with them!

hmmm, i only look a few years older than these two 11-year-olds right? ok i admit, other than the cutie ponytails, it's my height that makes me look like a kid. 有些11岁的小孩儿都长得比我高！！！！！好丢脸！！！！！！！！

that day, we went to a food court for lunch, and the 3 of us were walking around to see what food stirs our appetite. at one point, we made our moves to different stalls and i stopped in front of a 猪杂汤stall...the stall asst asked "小妹，要吃什么？" i tot it was ok...but when i went back again to get soy sauce, she asked again, "小妹，你要什么？" the way she offered help made me realise that maybe she thought i'm a sec school kid leh!!!!!! i dunno if i'm overly sensitive...but it could be true! maybe she thinks i'm around my team members' age! *faints*

i'm not gonna whine abt "为什么我长得这么矮？？？？！！！！！", i seriously dun think it's gonna help. instead, i shall ask "我要到哪里才可以找到舒服的高跟鞋？？？！！！！"

since there's no way i can change my height (i'm definitely not gonna 打断脚骨and get an iron extension), so might as well accept this fact and find a solution, i.e. comfy heels.

and allow me to console myself that at least i'll still look young when i reach 30, 35, 40, etc...maybe i'll look like my children's 大姐 instead of 妈妈 in the future. MUAHAHHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! *安慰*

ok, while i can look like i have yet to gone thru puberty...-_-

was out drinking on good friday...i haven gone drinking for more than a year! miss the fun...i dun go drinking often lah...but chilling out occasionally definitely makes me relaxed (i really needed to let my hair down this mth!)...difficult to capture the light in a pub...there's only candlelight! (romantic sia...heehee...)

This is true! I really cut my hair! Hehe...been thkg abt it for some time...rem my previous post abt my new short hairstyle?? tat one was done by tying up my long hair and keeping it underneath my bob...this one is really~~~ HEHEHE...

Had wanted a fresh look for a few months already...finally got e courage and made e decision to snip off my hair. So here it is! From long length to mid length! I permed the ends too...for e jap look lah...but actually, perming doesn't make e hair more manageable lah...a bit troublesome and bothered by e curls that go in all directions in a not-so-nice way...i dunno how to style lah...anw wif my straight hair texture, i figure my hair will be quite straight again within 2 mths...=P

this is rare, but this blog entry is esp for one "anonymous" who left a comment on my previous blog entry asking me wat course she/he shld take cos she/he hopes to make a right decision. and so, here's my ans. hope it helps. =)

i chose mass comm in ngee ann poly. and it was one of the best decisions i've made in my life. it's very tough, but it made me learn and grow. it's most impt to find a course which u r interested in. if it doesn't interest u much, u wun find urself willing to put in effort for it. for my case, i picked wat i wanted and gave it my best. i told myself, if my english isn't as good as my fellow coursemates, i will put in double e effort. if it takes them one hr to finish an assg, then i'll spend 2 hrs. tat's how i survive and eventually thrive in my mass comm course. i'm glad i graduated wif flying colours.

i think first of all, ask urself, wat is ur interest? is there something tat helps u develop tat? find sth tat u love k? =) ganbatte!

一直觉得最重要的莫过于健康快乐。如果你年纪很小，或许你不了解其中的重要性。it took me a while to realise its importance too. 但是如果你已超过20岁，且经历了人生中足以改变你的重大事件，那么相信你的想法不会离我的甚远。

1) finish my salsa beginner 2 course and embark on my salsa intermediate and complete salsa intermediate 1 by end of the year.

2) time to learn some dishes...人总要吃的嘛。learn some simple ones bah. juz to ensure i master the basic skills and continue from there...

3) have a higher EQ...不要再得罪人了。

4) improve on my acting skills. (p.s. this has nth to do wif no. 3. haha!) i've acted in tv series 《小孩不笨》，电影《鬼啊鬼啊》，电影《大喜事》，广播剧《名牌女郎》and 广播剧《215的约定》。and i'm sure i can do a good job in this area. hope i can 发挥 more in 2009! one way to brush up my acting skills is to watch more good acting！《溏心风暴之家好月圆》，here i come!

5) be happier! i wanna wake up everyday feeling positive!

6) be healthier! which means more exercise and i wanna build up my strength and stamina. any suggestions how to do this??

will add on whenever i thk of more. tell me abt urs k?? then we can remind one another from time to time that we shld stick to our goals! ganbatte ne!

Marina Barrage!

went to marina barrage in mid-nov...but i took 1 mth to blog abt it! =P pai say...was bz enjoying life...celebrating bday and xmas...muahaha...finally at home today (on a fri night) and not feeling tired leh...so decided to share wif u e pix...=P

it's a pretty nice place...lighting is quite colourful...it's a nice place to take a walk if u feel like relaxing...oh, there's a "little" slope in e centre of marina barrage where u feel u r at e peak of the area and it's the oni place where u can see only the sky wif no barriers (i think...can't c clearly at night leh)...however, i have to specify, it's oni from a CERTAIN angle where u feel the scenery is great...from other angles, it's just so SINGAPORE lor...was wondering though, how the scenery will be like in e day when e sun is out...i'm sure it's vastly different...will check out marina barrage in e daytime when free...provided that i m really free lah, cos it's not very accessible...hehe...

i guess u can understand y it's e same angles...it's at night!!!!!! thus these are the oni slightly lit-up places for photo-taking...=P

yeah!! got my new hp wif 5.0 megapixel!!

it's amazing how a hp can malfunction or start having probs every 2 yrs...i.e. when e contract is up. for two of my hps, e keypad started having probs from e 21st mth and worsened into e 23rd mth...

so i got myself a new hp. it's not terrific, but it's more than good enough for a light user like me.

i admit, i m narcissistic. thus wif my new CAMERA hp, it simply translates into more self portraits!!!

a bit depressed...

wat made it worse is tat i can't talk...serious sore throat. doc checked my throat and said tat it was peeling. OMG, HOW CAN A THROAT PEEL??? apparently, it's cos of some virus tat made e sore throat illness more serious than usual.

i can't talk at all. i din talk at at all yest...this morn, tried to talk, but it's still painful...

doc gave stronger antibiotics this time round...500mg instead of 250mg. and oh my, the medicine was super bitter lor! cos the pill was so big, that i had to bite it up into two pieces first b4 i swallow. and thus, i get to taste e REAL TASTE of e medicine. YIKES!

my frens were telling me how sucky e weather is lately and i better take care of myself...but now how??? ill liao leh...i've been sleeping e whole of yesterday...super drowsy...

let's hope i can make it for work tm. till now, i've had 3 meals of porridge liao...two meals a day so far...and every meal is porridge...now the crucial factor is, will i be able to talk by tonight??? if not, how to work??? =(

It's been a scary fortnight...already figured out that I'll be damn busy ever since i come back from Perth...but it was kinda scarier than i tot...

last wk, i spent almost every weekday night in the production studio till 9+...now that everything can be on track soon, it's abt time i start doing my own stuff!!!

My Perth Trip!

my 7-day perth trip was so freaking cold!! i'm really not used to the low temperature...hmmm, let's put it this way, with more clothings, it wasn't tat hard to get used to the low temp...it's more of the unpredictable strong wind tat got me constantly complaining.

anyway, tat aside, finally finally!!! i've uploaded some pix for u to c!!

went to rottnest island on my second day...it's a small island wif beautiful scenery and u can cycle ard the island...we took the air taxi which was a 12-min ride instead of the ferry which had to take more than 1 hr to get to the place...

and it was so cool to be on a plane like this! e scenery from the plane was magnificent! really enjoyed it!

when we were there, we really cycled for a few hrs...my cousin said we shld have cycled for more than 10km already...i can't believe it...i was kinda out of breath while cycling esp when going uphill...had to stop to push my bike...

Sometimes I wished I weren't a woman

why do i say this??

other than the fact that i have to withstand and overcome the ordeal of menstrual cramp (which can be so painful tat u can't imagine if you are a man), the other trauma which i have to painfully go through is PMS.

PMS = Premenstrual Syndrome.

1-2 wks before the actual period, the hormones in your body screw up and sometimes you become a complete wreck. well, if not a "complete" one, u might still end up being a "partial" wreck. (by that i don't mean "partial" as in "fair". haha. not funny.)

i admit, sometimes i get depressed when i have PMS. i start thinking about the negative things in life. WHICH I ABSOLUTELY HATE. who loves being an annoying negative depressant??

you know how much i love to laugh and be a happy nut. but...

what can i say?

i hate my hormones.

I HATE MY HORMONES.

sometimes i wished i weren't a woman. then i wouldn't have to go through all the pain, month after month, till menopause (which is perhaps 2 decades later).

so there you are, or here i am, 2 more decades to suffer. haha.

What is premenstrual syndrome?

Premenstrual syndrome, or PMS, is the term used for the physical and emotional symptoms that many women have during the seven to 14 days before their menstrual period begins. Almost every woman will endure bouts of PMS at some point in her life, but for an unlucky few -- between 20 and 40 percent -- PMS is a monthly ordeal.

What are the symptoms?

PMS symptoms are so numerous and varied that looking at a rundown can be a little jarring. The good news is that few people experience all of them. Physical symptoms may include these:
•lack of energy, fatigue
•swollen, tender breasts
•abdominal bloating, cramps, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation
•headache, back pain, body aches
•appetite changes
•swollen hands, feet, or ankles (due to water retention)
•dizziness, fainting
•joint or muscle pain
•flare-ups of acne, cold sores, genital herpes, yeast infections

Mental and emotional symptoms may include these:

•irritability
•anger
•mood swings
•depression
•crying spells
•forgetfulness, difficulty concentrating
•anxiety
•memory loss or forgetfulness
•confusion

What are the best ways to get relief?

You have a wide range of options, including these:

•Get moving. Studies show that physical activity helps to relieve PMS symptoms, perhaps by triggering the release of brain chemicals, including endorphins, which ease pain, relieve stress, brighten mood, and produce a sense of well-being. Exercise also relaxes muscles, which can ease aches. And it fights fluid retention, which can reduce bloating and breast tenderness.
•Try taking calcium supplements. An exciting new study suggested that women who took two Tums E-X tablets twice a day (which provided a total of 1,200 milligrams of calcium) had a noticeable reduction in PMS symptoms. Calcium's benefits didn't kick in until the third month, though, so don't give up if you don't feel better during the first cycle or two.
•Eat healthfully. Get plenty of complex carbohydrates such as whole grain breads, pasta, and cereal; and load up on fruits and vegetables. Unlike sweets, these foods provide steady energy and are high in fiber, which can curb cravings, since fiber-rich foods take longer to digest. Adding nuts, seeds, and soy products to your meals may also fend off PMS. These foods are rich in phytoestrogens (plant estrogens), which recent studies suggest may help adjust hormonal imbalances. Finally, avoid highly salted foods in the weeks leading up to your period (salt can cause you to retain water and feel bloated), caffeine (it's been found to contribute to breast tenderness and can exacerbate anxiety and irritability), and alcohol (it can trigger cravings and aggravate depression, headache, and fatigue).
•Take over-the-counter pain relievers. Aspirin and ibuprofen can relieve many of the bodily aches and pains that come with PMS.
•Talk to your doctor about taking other medications. If your symptoms are severe, ask your doctor if birth-control pills or antidepressants might be helpful. Oral contraceptives can even out fluctuations in hormone levels that cause symptoms. And studies show that the newer SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) drugs, such as Prozac, can effectively relieve both the emotional and physical symptoms of PMS in 75 percent of women. These medications work by increasing serotonin levels, possibly correcting neurotransmitter imbalances that seem to contribute to PMS.
•Get more sleep. Being stressed out or sleep deprived is likely to exacerbate many PMS symptoms, including aches and pains, moodiness, and irritability. Make sure you get plenty of sleep, and try relaxation techniques -- such as massage, meditation, or simply soaking in long hot baths -- as your period approaches.

check out e 豆花 at tsim sha tsui 糖朝restaurant...so "wobbly" that once u scoop it into ur mouth, it kinda disintegrates right away...e best 豆花 ever!!! and it's served in a wooden bucket...好有传统风味哦！

supposedly one bucket can serve 3-4 ppl...but we have 6 ppl...and the serving was already more than enuff lor!

dinner in another cafe! roast pigeon! quite nice leh...the texture is like chicken-duck...满嫩的！好吃！(but it looks very 可怜 right?)

i'm e type who needs supper...no wonder i'm fat lor...and seriously, i prefer HK food rather than TW food...cos i love soups, dim sum and desserts!

寒冷的十二月

又到了年底了。。。细雨纷飞的季节。。。

尽管新加坡不可能下雪，我却感觉到了几丝寒意。

之前感冒了。至今已经一个多星期声音处于沙哑状态。it feels terrible to hear ur voice hoarse when u open ur mouth...u dun even feel like talking anymore...不能像平时七情上面地说话。。。不能大声说，不能多说，不然会不舒服。只能下意识地提醒自己要轻声说话。depressed...

i have to further restrict the food i eat too...now, i dun even eat cakes...

清淡 is good. been taking a lot of porridge too...this is e more luxurious form of 清淡 food tat can make me happier i guess...

i hope my voice can recover soon...i wan my voice back.

忙碌的时期终于可以暂告一段落了。

10月份的最后两个星期是令我最提心吊胆的日子。

广播剧耗去了我大部分的时间。《谁能与天使相恋》 - 你有听吗？请来了沈玮竣担任男主角，而我则是女主角。在剪辑最后一集时，我忍不住哭了。。。如果你要我压抑自己的情绪，我实在做不到，所以眼泪就不听使唤了吧。。。也因为不喜欢压抑自己的情绪，所以很喜欢演戏吧。。。虽然这次的演出不需要看到表情，我却也是七情上面 - 表情，动作都做出来了。虽然不是演得很好，但是我希望听到广播剧的人都可以被故事感动。

正当我被广播剧“摧残”得筋疲力尽时，还是得为新加坡金曲奖做些准备。最起码，得知道谁入围什么奖项吧。。。

过去几天，很累。胃也不太舒服。

今天星期天，是我多个月以来，难得可以在周末 NUA 在家无所事事。太难得了。本来以为可以睡个午觉，可是在朦朦胧胧间却被我大嫂的 sms 唤醒 - 问我要不要去她家喝补汤。我没去，仍是呆在家里一边看MTV台，一边和妈妈聊天。

当然，也顺便想着接下来的日子我的工作量是否会让我发疯。

可以回去上Salsa课了吗？应该去上瑜伽课吗？几个月前所买的木村的日剧 - 终于可以让我好好地看了吧？是否该向朋友借《转角遇到爱》？(she told me it's very nice) 我还该做什么呢？如果你有什么好介绍，请留言给我哦。

真的希望可以好好的休息一下。

在广播剧之前，我也在忙着拍儿童节目。。。怎么好像一直有很多东西做？

anyway, i'll be going to Hong Kong soon. mid-nov. shopping. eating. shopping. eating. if u have been updated of my schedule over e past half a yr, i guess u would understand how much this 5-day HK trip means to me.

平时在忙时总觉得没时间也不想谈恋爱。可是，只要一忙完，我又会开始埋怨为什么还没对象。这样的现象持续了好久哦。反反复复的。

但是可能因为最近实在太忙了吧。。。。就觉得自己一个人也很不赖。我不喜欢向人交代我的事情。如果我要说的话，你不用问我也会说。渴望谈恋爱的心情已经不强烈了。

这两年的我比以前的我还要快乐多了。=)

I love food...those who really know me well would have known how much i eat...

i LOVE LOVE LOVE jap food and chinese food...crystal jade is one of the chinese restaurants i frequent and this is one of my fav dishes...凉瓜排骨。pork ribs with bittergourd in black bean sauce...i finished this and a bowl of 皮蛋瘦肉粥 all by myself a few days ago...YUM YUM.

like my fren has said, this is definitely not a photogenic dish...but well, i still love it.

my porridge and i...(btw this was taken on another occasion when my fren n i ordered exactly e same food a few wks ago...can tell how much i like them right??? WAHAHA!!!)

i normally eat quite healthily but i always succumb when i c this...肥猪肉！！！不肥我还不爱吃呢！吃！！！吃！！！吃！！！

yoyo, i'm finally back! After 10 long days in Australia!

i went there wif the first group and came back wif e last group...it's been a tiring trip but really fun...love e scenery...

for those who missed e FINE WEATHER and BEAUTIFUL SCENERY in Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort, muahaha...check these out!

and juz in case u r in doubt, no no, these pix have not been digitally enhanced! (i'm a klutz in tat, rem? muahahaha...) e weather is so perfect and e scenery is marvellous lor!

i did sand tobogganing and the ATV quad bike! i got e hard copies of e pix!!!!!!!! very nice!!!!!! i'll c if i can scan those pix....

finally got to feed e dolphins too! oh ya, i did see e whales...*plural* more than one leh...din take any pix...i'll wait for leong to send e pix to me...

yes everyone, it's been a long time since i blogged...

first of all, early may - something was wrong wif blogger and i can't update anything at all...

then, some of my colleagues were on mc or on leave and i have to help out wif e tremendous amt of workload...i really hope everything can be back on track soon...=)

i've stopped my salsa classes for almost 2 mths now...cos there're too many things to handle...i hope i'll be able to cont' wif it soon...i feel like i've lost touch wif my salsa!!! i wanna dance!!! =D!

i'm going to aust from 4th jun to 14th jun...wun be blogging during this period of time...i'll be in australia gold coast....though it's winter there, it'll still be sunny...let's hope i'll be able to remain fair thruout this period of time...i still wanna come back with nice fair skin...muahaha...

for some who still dunno wat's happening...i'm replacing chongqing to lead a tour to gold coast...300 pax...hehe...so after this trip, i have 300 more frens...MUAHAHA!!!

yes, i'll try to take more pix if possible n post them up here when i'm back...but tat'll take some time ok? cos i reckon i'll be busy again when i get back to work two weeks later...haha...

btw e GSS is finally here...i seriously suspect i'm under too much stress lately...my wardrobe is going to burst soon...and yet i'm not keeping my shopping desire in rein...i bought 5 tops and 1 pair of shorts within 2 days...i've used up all my hangers...and i dunno where to put my clothes...and yet, WHY AM I STILL BUYING? i used to be a rational shopper but now...hmmm...how ah??? e oni excuse i can find now is tat i'm too stressed lately lor...tat's y keep buying and buying...no more space in e wardrobe and not earning a lot but still like tat...haha...

well, BUT AT LEAST I'M AWARE THAT THIS PROB EXISTS and tat's a good start right??? ok ok, i'll keep my spending habits in check...hopefully there's nth much to buy in Aust lor...HAHAHA!!!

It's finally out! The movie!

Jazz By The Beach

finally a day to relax...had been feeling down lately...but thanks to all e frens who offered me words of advice and encouragement...really appreciate it. =)

anyway, yup, went to Jazz By The Beach @ Siloso Beach wif my frens n we really had fun there! The drummer is Louis Soliano...won Best Drummer in the 70s when most of us weren't even born yet (oops)...the guy on the keyboard is the renowned Redwan Ali. Tried the luge and skyride as well! But of cos, no pix for tat...haha...

P.S. The next Jazz By The Beach will be in Sept. U'll see me there then. Tata! =)

A Good Movie Made My Day!

i've been so busy lately...actually not juz me, almost every colleague has been very busy recently...esp wif the radio drama...we have four radio dramas over 933...2 has been broadcast and have received rave reviews. thanks for supporting! we have 2 more coming up...mine's e 4th and e final story for this season. it's definitely challenging and fun...but time-consuming! that's y i've been bz...haha!!! and i'm been forcing myself to follow my work schedule religiously cos we all noe how procrastination can screw up our originally-nicely-planned schedule. =Z

somehow i'm glad i have my salsa lesson to look forward to every week...yup, i've started taking proper salsa lessons after my performance for the bday bash...it's really fun and most imptly, it gives me joy. do try it if u have e opportunity...hehe...i've been psycho-ing every single fren to take salsa so that we can all dance together in e near future. it doesn't matter how well u dance, the point is to ENJOY every moment and SMILE. =)

caught this Korean movie over e wkn. "200 Pounds Beauty". i'm usually not a fan of Korean movies or drama...but i love comedies! Thus, my fren and i decided to give this movie a shot! and we nv regretted it! the movie is lovely with the beautiful cast (e female lead looks like Vivian Hsu when she cries!), hilarious bits and touching storyline...

i rarely recommend movies to frens cos it's not easy to find one that's worth doing so, but "200 Pounds Beauty" is really worth it. Go catch the movie if u can. U wun regret it. =)

P.S. After watching the movie, i hope u wun have e urge to go under the knife. But perhaps like me, u'll have the urge to cut down on carbos and do some proper workout to lose some fat. haha!

随想。。。

i finally spent e day tidying up my room...my room was at its neatest during CNY...and usually e most messy b4 and during the annual shift change in March.

So u can imagine my room was only neat and tidy for a couple of weeks b4 it OFFICIALLY turned into a pigsty for e past 4 weeks...haha!

and since i came back from tokyo, i dun seem to have e time to tidy up and pack my stuff...so this wkn, finally finally finally, i have some time to myself and to finish up my chores...

and i FINALLY got myself a garment steamer last night! $200+++....but well, it does lighten my ironing load a bit...

haven had e time to blog last mth cos other than preparing for my 一周好萧遥 shift, there were so many things on my mind...

i have thoughts to share but dunno how to start...so many things on my mind which there'll be no conclusion on...

but well, basically, i realise that 人生最难的习题就是人与人之间的关系。

和家人。

和朋友。

和每一个人。

你的一言一语可以让他感觉爱，或感觉到受伤害。

小时候，不须太在乎别人的想法。。。

不，不是不需要。而是因为小朋友有任性的“特权”。

“小孩子不懂事啦”。这是别人为我们而设的借口。

长大了，不一样了。

是被迫成熟吗？不是被迫的。

是自己总要长大的。

因为之前家里办喜事，所以得帮父母的忙。得和妈妈商量如何把事情处理得面面俱到。什么是该做的，什么不该做？

人与人的关系很复杂。

但是，我乐意也努力地在学习。

因为只有在自己能够在待人处世方面做的好，才可以和晚辈们分享什么是对，什么是错。

哈哈！好像把自己说得很老！我还年轻得很！

只不过看到一些父母亲没能把一些正确的价值观灌输给孩子时，就觉得那样会害了孩子。

像最近刘德华的粉丝的个案。。。导火线是因为父母对孩子的溺爱吧。。。

如果身为父母的都不晓得什么是对，什么是错，那么凭什么来教导孩子？

我们总得为自己的一切负责。虽然依赖，从某个角度来说，是很幸福的一件事，但是父母帮不了我们一辈子的。。。

所以自己得长大。

如果有一天，别人得依赖我们，喜欢依赖我们，是不是意味着我们已长大了，已有能力照顾别人的呢？

如果有一天，那成真的话，对我们来说，应该也是一件幸福的事吧。。。=)

有人问我农历新年过得如何？跟以往一样，很简单。

我喜欢农历新年。对我而言，那才是新的一年的开始。有位朋友说，“诶，你好像比较传统耶！” 哈哈！或许是吧？

初一过得很简单。每年都一样，全家人一起去拜拜。=）

初二到了老板们的家去拜年。

初三到了两位长辈的家。听他们嘻嘻哈哈。听他们说和媳妇的相处之道。哈哈！我要慢慢学着点哦！喜欢听他们以方言说说笑笑。广东话似乎是我最亲切的方言。好自在哦！

傍晚终于约了位朋友吃晚餐。我原以为会有很多时间和不同的朋友出门，但其实不然。假期太短了啦！！！

到了我爱去的日本餐厅之一去享受日式纸火锅！

本来很想在这几天去看部贺岁片，但是和我吃饭的朋友已经看过了我很想看的"Norbit" 和 "Just Follow Law"，所以即使已经是年初三了，我还没看过任何一部贺岁片leh！why like tat?!

周末吧。。。就可以继续沉浸在农历新年的春节气息中！继续holiday mood!!! muahaha! i'm sure u feel e same way too!!! *hi 5 man!* yeah baby!!

It's my first time counting down to the lunar new year at another place other than home. I'm already so used to taking 1 hr to eat my reunion dinner! followed by hrs of nua-ing in front of the tv every chinese new yr's eve! haha! this yr, i spent my chinese new yr's eve with DJs from 933, 958, 972 at Chinatown! anybody seen me 扯铃-ing? it's not easy but it's actually pretty fun! hehe!

好多人会把我的名字给混淆。。。我是萧嘉蕙，不是萧嘉惠。嘿嘿。。。虽然差别不大，但是毕竟是我的名字，所以总希望身边的人可以多注意一下。

如果在yahoo或google等search engine键入“YES933萧嘉蕙”，我的部落格会是第一个出现在搜寻结果名单上的吗？有办法可以那样子做吗?

不喜欢分离。。。我亲爱的小表弟在明天要到澳洲去念书了。他说，不会常回来。。。因为在澳洲买机票比较贵。。。=Z 什么话嘛。。。大家会想他耶。。。所以我也只能计划着再过几个月过去探望我这可爱，讲义气的小表弟。好啦，他也没小我很多啦。。。3年而已。。。说真的，还挺舍不得他的。

我觉得奇怪的是，有时候啊，当即使只是和你有片面之缘的一些人离开时，你也会觉得那一丝的思念。但都说是片面之缘了，接触机会又不多，所以感情不深啊。。。以常理来说，那份想念会慢慢淡化的啦，对不？

Time flies! it's been quite some time since i graduated from Ngee Ann Poly Mass Comm!

Was back in my alma mater to cover the Open House last week for work...and i kinda realised i missed school...life in Mass Comm hasn't been easy for those 3 yrs...rushing to meet deadlines, etc...(oni those who have been thru it all will truly understand the experience in Mass Comm). but all in all, those 3 yrs are fond memories. I LUV MY POLY DAYS!!! =)

and i can't believe those years have passed by so quickly and there i was, attending my poly mate's wedding on Sunday night!!! I feel so "mature" already lor...!!! =Z

The wedding was at Sentosa Shangri-La...quite inaccessible lah...cos gotta take shuttle bus into Sentosa. But it was great seeing my poly mates again! Like i've said, time flies!!! (but wah, fly slower can?!)

Birthday Presents!

wow man...i can't believe i actually received more gifts than ever this yr...even though u might feel they r not "A LOT" if u go thru my list later, but i'm contented. =)

birthdays have never ever been SUPER BIG DAYS for me. i'm happy enuff if my close frens bother to offer to celebrate wif me. been feeling depressed b4 my bday for a specific reason but my family and frens compensated for tat loss. hehe...

1) bag charm and bracelet from my BEST FREN - i converted e bracelet to a hp chain cos it was kinda loose for me. (i'll remember u whenever i c my hp, dear!) hehe...Had dinner at my fav Jap restaurant...Crab Hotpot. Oishii Ne~!!!

And her sister is very kind to make me a pair of earrings! and my best fren's bf gave me a pillow wif a pig-head face! HAHA! i'm not a pig though i behave like one sths (according to my mum!)!! HAHA! so nice of them lor...=)

3) Dinner treat from my da ge at my fav pasta restaurant! I love my fettucine with slipper lobster! and earrings from the new member of my family - my da sao!

actually this yr is kinda e first yr tat i nv really specify wat i wan...in e past, when i was juz a student, of cos i can't afford quite a lot of stuff. thus, we gals back in schooldays, would be looking forward to our bdays when we can ask our frens to buy us nicer gifts cos a number of them will pool in e money.

as i grow older, i dun long for tat anymore...nothing matters to me more than to have cosy chats over dinner wif my close frens on my bday. i'm not e go-out-to-party/organise-big-parties kinda gal.

if u ask me wat i wan this yr, i would say "gimme a surprise leh..." this yr is slightly diff (in all sorts of ways). and i left everything to them...i juz wan cosy chats wif my close frens every yr...as long as they are willing to spend time wif me, i'm glad enuff. =)

yoyoyo, i'm back from taiwan! i spent e last 5 days in taipei. it was not too bad. a bit worn out from e shopping and sight-seeing. took some pictures of course (cos so many of u wanna c pix! hehe!), but since some of e pix r wif my fren, i'll take more time to upload those pix for u all to c...

meanwhile, these r e food i bought!

allow me to introduce...from 淡水- the famous 阿婆铁蛋，鱼酥 and muah chee!!! supposedly "阿婆铁蛋" is e best cos this 阿婆 is e 厉害阿婆 who invented 铁蛋! she had wanted to 卤 some eggs, and she din keep track of e time...and TA DA！！！ super iron eggs!!! haha...it's very chewy and the flavour is great! i've tried other brands but i haven tried this yet...but i reckon it shld be fab!

this one is a great find from Watson's! i've always been a fan of 枇杷膏。and i found 枇杷膏 sachets over there! extremely convenient for u to bring them out rather than e heavy glass bottle! NT120 for 12 sachets...tat means ard S$0.50 for each sachet...not cheap leh...

this one is so cute!!! "Biagra" sweets！！！ For both men and women! hmmm, tell me, who needs it????? i give u lah...HEHE...

i bought e blue one for my guy fren...and e pink one for my gal fren. and no, they do not know each other leh. hehe...and too bad, my female fren is married already! moreover, after reading wat's on e packaging, i'm contemplating to keep this for myself! guess wat's on e packaging?

I seriously hate the haze. who doesn't? haha...

The haze came back today and reached a PSI index of 130+...

It affected me i think...I dun feel super duper well...Reminded me of the feeling that i had a week ago when i was down wif e virus.

I was walking to the carpark after hosting the noon shift today and i felt breathing was not as smooth as usual...I'm not sure not only me, a lot of ppl would have felt the same way if they were outdoors.

I'm a tad scared. What can i do to protect myself?

I guess the only thing u and me can do is to improve our immunity system.

after my parents were down wif e stomach flu...my 2 bros got it too.

wow...cos of me, the whole family gets affected. goes to prove how contagious this thing is...

talking about being strong, i think it's impt to be strong not juz physically, but mentally as well.

In life, we'll all come across plain mean ppl who try to make ur life miserable and after which, these ppl would gloat if they succeed.

i would say, go do something meaningful to society if u r so free.

i believe in karma.

痛苦的时期

norovirus gastroenteritis - 肠胃感冒

一切从星期天开始。

回去做站长。。。一切都还OK。回家休息，睡了一觉醒来，就吃爸爸打包回来的鸭饭。

10点多开始觉得不舒服，肚子很胀，想吐。。。11点多吃了中成药就上床睡觉。

一直没法入睡。

结果，2点多从床上跳下来（我也不晓得是“跳”下来还是什么。。。应该不是滚下来），就稀里哗啦吐得要死。

我完全说不出话来。家人全都睡了。我只好用力的拍打房门，等着妈妈或爸爸来救我。果然，他们一来，就吓了一跳。

they cleaned everything up while i was trying hard not to feel nauseous again. but as u know, it was beyond my control!

managed to sleep lightly till 11+ in e morn...

i woke up and decided...i really can't get to work...my legs were wobbly...每走两步就想吐。

went to c a doc...came back and took some pills before eating my meal so that i can proceed wif my after-meal medication.

before i can eat any food my mum prepared, there it goes again.

i'll spare u e details.

let's juz say i dun think i'll eat any duck rice again for the next two months.

it was TORTUROUS!！！！！

HORRENDOUS!!!!!

and you know what the worse thing was, i spreaded this to my parents. my mum started puking in the afternoon. my dad started puking in the evening.

how did they get infected? cos they were noble enough to clean up my 秽物。

the second time i puked, my parents wanted to send me to e hospital cos i can't consume any food.

on mon, all i had were my pills and less than four slices of bread. there was no appetite. and of cos, no energy.

there was this sense of bloatedness that existed constantly. no appetite. 每走两步就想吐。

my doc joked that macham like pregnant.

i've heard from my frens before 害喜的症状就是这样。

wa liao...then i'm not sure if i'm ready to bear a child yet, man...

it's horrible seeing ur parents puke and getting so sick...juz yest evening, i cleaned up my dad's puke in e toilet...my bros weren't at home. my mum was lying on the bed. they were more sick than me lor...of cos i had to clean up lah...

i still feel quite restless...my energy level is low...but i'll be back to work...everyone, juz dun be shocked if i play more than 4 songs in a row lah.

anyway, i must post this up for everyone to know. it's for e good of everyone.

What are the symptoms of illness caused by noroviruses?

The symptoms of norovirus illness usually include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and some stomach cramping. Sometimes people additionally have a low-grade fever, chills, headache, muscle aches, and a general sense of tiredness. The illness often begins suddenly, and the infected person may feel very sick. In most people the illness is self-limiting with symptoms lasting for about 1 or 2 days. In general, children experience more vomiting than adults. Most people with norovirus illness have both of these symptoms.

How serious is norovirus disease?

People may feel very sick and vomit many times a day, but most people get better within 1 or 2 days, and they have no long-term health effects related to their illness. However, sometimes people are unable to drink enough liquids to replace the liquids they lost because of vomiting and diarrhea. These persons can become dehydrated and may need special medical attention. This problem with dehydration is usually only seen among the very young, the elderly, and persons with weakened immune systems.

How do people become infected with noroviruses?

Noroviruses are found in the stool or vomit of infected people. People can become infected with the virus in several ways, including:

eating food or drinking liquids that are contaminated with norovirus;
touching surfaces or objects contaminated with norovirus, and then placing their hand in their mouth;
having direct contact with another person who is infected and showing symptoms (for example, when caring for someone with illness, or sharing foods or eating utensils with someone who is ill).
Persons working in day-care centers or nursing homes should pay special attention to children or residents who have norovirus illness. This virus is very contagious and can spread rapidly throughout such environments.

When do symptoms appear?

Symptoms of norovirus illness usually begin about 24 to 48 hours after ingestion of the virus, but they can appear as early as 12 hours after exposure.

Are noroviruses contagious?

Noroviruses are very contagious and can spread easily from person to person. Both stool and vomit are infectious. Particular care should be taken with young children in diapers who may have diarrhea.How long are people contagious?

People infected with norovirus are contagious from the moment they begin feeling ill to at least 3 days after recovery. Some people may be contagious for as long as 2 weeks after recovery. Therefore, it is particularly important for people to use good handwashing and other hygienic practices after they have recently recovered from norovirus illness.

Who gets norovirus infection?

Anyone can become infected with these viruses. There are many different strains of norovirus, which makes it difficult for a person’s body to develop long-lasting immunity. Therefore, norovirus illness can recur throughout a person’s lifetime. In addition, because of differences in genetic factors, some people are more likely to become infected and develop more severe illness than others.

What treatment is available for people with norovirus infection?

Currently, there is no antiviral medication that works against norovirus and there is no vaccine to prevent infection. Norovirus infection cannot be treated with antibiotics. This is because antibiotics work to fight bacteria and not viruses.

Norovirus illness is usually brief in healthy individuals. When people are ill with vomiting and diarrhea, they should drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration. Dehydration among young children, the elderly, the sick, can be common, and it is the most serious health effect that can result from norovirus infection. By drinking oral rehydration fluids (ORF), juice, or water, people can reduce their chance of becoming dehydrated. Sports drinks do not replace the nutrients and minerals lost during this illness.

Can norovirus infections be prevented?

You can decrease your chance of coming in contact with noroviruses by following these preventive steps:

Frequently wash your hands, especially after toilet visits and changing diapers and before eating or preparing food.

Carefully wash fruits and vegetables, and steam oysters before eating them.
Thoroughly clean and disinfect contaminated surfaces immediately after an episode of illness by using a bleach-based household cleaner.

Immediately remove and wash clothing or linens that may be contaminated with virus after an episode of illness (use hot water and soap).

Flush or discard any vomitus and/or stool in the toilet and make sure that the surrounding area is kept clean.

Persons who are infected with norovirus should not prepare food while they have symptoms and for 3 days after they recover from their illness (see food handler information sheet). Food that may have been contaminated by an ill person should be disposed of properly.

i still have no idea how i contracted this, but it's really horrible.
